The RD6 in the Uruguay shipment

We shipped one RADAR RD6 electric pickup to Montevideo in January 2025. The pickup’s configuration included a 200 kW electric motor, identified as TZ220XS200 in the vehicle information for the shipment.

The shipment also contained a different vehicle. This case follows the RD6 pickup, so its configuration should be considered separately when discussing another electric pickup order.

Motor power and battery energy answer different questions

The 200 kW figure describes motor output. Battery capacity, stated in kWh, describes an energy quantity. To compare electric pickups for a route, ask for both the exact vehicle version and the battery configuration being offered.

A power figure alone does not establish range, cargo allowance or charging time. Those need the corresponding vehicle specifications and the conditions under which the truck will be used.

For a new enquiry, give the normal daily distance and the longest trip the pickup must complete between charging opportunities. Describe the load, road conditions and use of cab climate control so the route discussion has a practical basis.

For more detail, see Calculating commercial EV range and route reserve.

Check charging where the pickup will park

Identify the charging location before choosing equipment. The vehicle connector, charger, electrical supply and available parking time need to work together.

If the pickup will return to the same base each evening, give its typical arrival and departure times. If it depends on charging away from base, identify the intended charging points and confirm compatibility for the offered version.

Ask the supplier to state the conditions behind any charging-time estimate. The starting and ending charge levels matter, as do the power available from the charger and the vehicle’s charging limits.

For more detail, see Planning depot charging for commercial electric vehicles.

Include the cargo arrangement in the comparison

For work use, send the dimensions and weight of the goods or equipment that will occupy the pickup bed. Include any cover, rack or toolbox you intend to fit, and ask how those additions affect the completed vehicle’s cargo allowance.

The usable bed dimensions and access through the tailgate should be checked for the actual load. If a particular towing task is required, request the rating and compatibility information for the exact proposed version rather than deriving it from motor output.

Discussing another export order

The Uruguay shipment provides a reference for supplying an RD6 to Montevideo. For your purchase, send the destination, intended work and charging arrangement with the vehicle version you are considering.

We can then discuss the configuration and shipping scope together. Range, charging and carrying requirements should be resolved for that version and route before the order is confirmed.

Ask about the available RD6 versions

Tell us your destination and requirements. We can discuss the current electric pickup configurations with you.
