Include the operator instructions, emergency-lowering arrangements and handover demonstration in the supply discussion. These should relate to the exact installed platform and its controls.

A remote-control option does not remove the need to follow the approved operating limits. The control arrangement, work envelope and site conditions should be reviewed as parts of the same system.

Give the supplier the space available for parking and stabilizer deployment at a typical work site. Ask for the required footprint and ground-support information for the proposed platform.

The completed truck’s transport height, rear overhang and turning space also need checking where access is restricted. A chassis model name alone does not establish the dimensions of the finished platform truck.

If the truck must work in particular weather or temperature conditions, include those in the specification and ask for the equipment’s stated operating limits. Do not assume that destination country alone defines the required operating environment.
